It features a single 18650 battery (not included in the box) with four adjustable power levels and a pod with a 2.7ml capacity that is easy to fill with any flavored e-liquid. There are 7 color variants for this device which are red, black, blue, gold, and 3 limited edition colors such as frost, tiffany blue, and SE. DotAIO is very popular in Australia and is considered a “designer” made device by its users. The reason why a lot of users love this device and recommend it because DotMod pack enough useful feature and build quality that matches the price. So is what are they saying is true? Let’s find it out.

Design:

The dotAIO is small and compact that it will fits into any pocket without feeling bulky. The look of the device feels premium and comfortable in the hand. Then the body is made of aluminium that feels similar to Iphone  frame. However, there is one dotAIO that is not made with aluminium which is the dotAIO Frost. The design is similar to the basic dotAIO but with different build by having high quality clear plastic frame on all side. In the hand, dotAIO Frost is still feel premium plus you can look the internal components of the device which is very eye catching. My favorite part of the design is modularity for the door. DotMod release limited edition door design every month and it is a worth of purchase considering if you like to collect different design. The mouthpiece is changeable with any aftermarket 510 sized drip tip depending on your preference.

Features:

The features of the dotAIO is very simple. A starter who use this device can easily use it as it only has 2 buttons with basic features. The big button which is also considered fire button is primarily for firing the device. The small button offers four power settings that you can choose which is very soft, soft, medium, strong depending on preferences. It features dry burn protection that stop you from vaping when the e-liquid level on your tank is low which extend the lifespan of your coils. To power up the device, it must have one 18650 battery which is not included in the box and this is better than internal battery device since you can get a larger capacity battery and avoid degradation by replacing it with ease.

Button Feature:

On/Off: Five clicks of the fire button.

Adjust Power Settings: Click the small/power button which is located below firing button

Disable/Enable Dry Burn Protection: Press and hold the power button

Battery Colors Indicator:

Green : 61%-100% charge ( 3.85V – 4.20V )
Blue : 21% – 60% charge ( 3.55V – 3.85V )
Red : 1% – 20% charge ( 3.30V – 3.55V )

Light Indicator:

Battery charge indicator : While charging, the battery light will pulse. Once the device is fully charged, the battery light will stop pulsing and turn off after 10 minutes.

Battery Input : The light will blink twice once the battery is inserted properly.

Sleep mode : After 10 minutes of inactivity the lights will blink 3 times and go into sleep mode.

Protection status : All four lights will blink rapidly twice when there is risk of short circuit or resistance overload.

Over heating : If the temperature goes over 75 C the lights will blink rapidly 5 times. Turn it off and let it cool down.

No atomizer / resistance out of working range : When pressing fire button the four lights will blink twice.

Dry Burn protection ( dry burn turned on ) : When pressing the fire button, the light indicator will blink a purple light 8 times if the level of e-juice is low or if the coil becomes too dry during your draw.

Result and Performance:

To achieve the best performance, I use single Efest 18650 3500mah battery with Mesh 0.3ohm coil designed for Direct to Lung vaping and custom door with eagle design. For e-liquid I use Shijin Tigers Milk with 70vg and 30pg.

To test the device I tried vey soft power settings to achieve a long and enjoyable draw. The flavour produced from the Mesh 0.3ohm coil is fantastic and the vapor produced is very cloudy even in lowest power settings. Jumping to higher power settings the device produce more vapors but for me, the lowest is more than enough as it preserved more battery life.

Speaking of battery this device last between 2-3 days with the very soft power settings. My favourite part of this device is the chipset it use. No other device I use perform similar to dotAIO. The reason why is because the chipset is so good that there are no delay when firing up the device. With no delay, means the device preserved the battery life span as it doesn’t waste any capacity like other devices

Our Verdict:

The dotAIO is a very reliable, premium, and compact device. I would agree to a lot of users who considered this device as “designer’ made product. The design is fantastic especially when I could replace the door with different design. The feeling when touching the aluminium frame? Really satisfying since the build is very well made.

The performance is too good even at it’s price point. The chipset is one of the selling point because it is very reliable and the flavour produced by coil is fantastic. It is comparable with sub ohm tank devices that has larger coil.

This devices fits into my pocket where I could carry it around and also works when I’m not moving around. This device is perfect for every situation when I vape as it also called as AIO devices. This device is pretty much unofficially categories as podmod since it combined two elements of pod device and a larger mod device.

So far I would say the dotAIO is a great choice for starter and must have for vape enthusiast as the device is really simple to use while having a premium build. There are basic and limited edition variants which has different build quality. So I would say “yes” this device is worth getting.
